The 400 carb will require the intake to be stretched over the intake of the carb.

it is much tighter then stock.

Cam,open it up and take a look.

Really no way of knowing whats done unless you look yourself.

I bought a H22a dohc from Japan for my accord only to find out the motor had a ton of work done to it.

I thought I picked up a stock motor and it was a stroked 2.2 to a 2.49 with 12.5-1 domes in it and a sleeved black with billet rods, complete 3200 june stroker kit.

I paid $1500 for it as a stock motor, but other times I have bought something that was built only to find out they lied through there teeth.

Hope this helps.

i was just messin around one day and took the carb off, but the boot came off and on fairly easy, so im assuming i have a stock carb. but what about like head porting, or big bore, how do i tell that stuff, take it off and measure?

You can take the head pipe off and look, also the microthermomature maybe the tool of choice to inspect, that or a boratascope.

Hope this helps.

This is a 400ex carb you can see the 2 breather tubes

This is a 300ex carb, you can see it dose not have the 2 breather tubes tied together. Just one and the over flow on the bottom which they both have. you can always mesure the opening of the carb. A 300ex is like 32mm and a 400ex is like 37
