I have a 09 yfz45r set up for xc. I have only one race on it. The race was very wet and muddy. . I went thru the water and mud expecting to have it give me problems but the yfz450r ran perfect. If you want more opinions go to www.yfzcentral.com

Glad you like it.

Front stock shocks are 18 inches from eye to eye.

I have a 2010 yfz450r se. The shocks are considerably thicker than 08 & older. 18" is about right for the front. The rear is somewhere around 20", I think. I love mine. The frame is great. It's light & narrow. If you take the a-arms off, the frame rails are only 4" wide which improves the handling & suspension usage of the bike. Also, the aluminum frame is great for durability, plus it looks really cool. They run fantastic, too. It doesn't matter what you go through, it WILL take the beating. I also like how you don't have to remove the bottom skid plate to change the oil. There's a hole in just the right spot to let it drain. They moved the coolant reservoir from the rear to the front & also did away with the sump reservoir for the oil. It all goes in the crankcase now. I'm confident that you'll be happy if you bought one! Here's a picture of my 05 & my 10 side by side & you can decide for yourself.

If you need some more photos, let me know & I'll go take some for you. It's a beatiful day outside today.

I haven't had an problems with the frame & I ride the piss out of mine. The engine is loaded with power & seems to be very durable, too. I'd let you ride mine, but you're like 30 hours away from me. Good luck, dude.

I think you would be happy with a new YFZR. I haven't had any frame issues other than when I flipped mine, I bent the subframe. My fault, as I didn't commit to a jump until it was too late and came up WAAAY short.

The motor is very strong. I just have a pipe, intake, and PC5 and it has great throttle response. I race MX, local and the occasional National, and it does well. Tons of power when you hammer down. I ride with the stock shocks and it does fine.

If you get the chance, take one for a spin. I can't see you being upset with your purchase. It is very comfortable to ride for prolonged periods too.

I had a Z400 and rode YFZ450s a lot in the past, and I would say this is by far better than the others, which were modified.

Hope it helps.

I second that. My buddy has a 2009 LTR450 XX & his can't touch mine. I think he has a Curtis Sparks pipe & a cherry bomb (or something like that-a power chip). I've got the same mods as Kovatch (pipe, filter & PC5) & the power is instantaneous.
