hey everyone, im new here just got a 450r yesterday, after a long wait, well i got the bike and it has a gauge connected to the radiator on the right side, what would this need to be on there for, and i've only road it like twice so far and the fan hasn't kicked on, how hot should it be before the fan kicks on and what is the normal running temperature for these fluids. thanks.

That gauge doesn't need to be there. Someone that probably rides slow put that on there to be safe. I'm not sure what temp the fan kicks on, but it's pretty stinking hot. About the only time it should ever come on is if you're literally creeping around, or sitting idle for a long time.

IIRC the fan kicks on at 212F.

Like said above the gauge isn't required but its nice to have. Can see when the bike is warmed up and if its over heating from some problem, even if you aren't riding slow.

Though for more accurate temps is should be on the upper rad hose.
That place is common though because it is much easier to see.

Doesn't catch the heat from the pipe on the upper hose either.:chinese:
