Ok so this winter I figured I should start tearing down my 450r looking for potential problems. So I took a lot of things off and began inspecting the frame. I spent a ton of time looking over it and found no issues.
So heres what I decided to do. Touch up the frame with matching paint (beleive it or not the "chrome" paint matches the frame almost exactly and sticks to it like you wouldn't believe)

New brake pads all the way around.
1 front rotor needed to be replaced.
New bars and kill switch
I wanted ne plastic and graphics
new tires
A thourough cleaning all underneath.
New air filter.
Decided to go back to my chrome wheels rather than my black like the whole world is running now.
New chain and sprockets
Motor work was done all ready so I'm good there.
Replaced the standard travel front end with JB long travel and long travel Elkas

So here is what it looked like before and as this went on.

you can see it needed to be really cleaned up underneath....but i guess they all do.

Here is some pics of the frame after my "touch up" with the paint I mentioned.

Then after ordering My graphics from E-sticky designs I had a brain storm of an idea that I wasnt sure would look right but decided to go for it.
I had planned on ordering new red plastics (was using white) and decided with the graphics colors I decided to keep the white in front and put the red in back....heres what it turned out like. What do you think Good? Bad? or Ugly?

The only thing in these photos is thats my hood with front number plate from my old graphics. I am replacing that hood and usint the front number plate that matches the 2 on the rear. But nats is this weekend so no time to change out. I forgot to order the new one...oops.

Also replaced the front bumper....I left that off my list before

Its just the Krylon interior/exterior spray paint with the chrome lid. Its really light spraying paint, it dont seem like regular spray paint. It dries really fast too. And its about as close to a perfect match to the honda silver as you can get. I found out about it years ago back in the ole 400ex days. Still works good today!

Good call on the plastics and the graphics kit is hot too. I use Eagle One A-Z wheel cleaner on all the metal parts of my quad and will work great on the motor too. Then get yourself some very find sandpaper and go over the side cases then follow with a Mothers mini-powerball polisher. They will look nicely polished.
