$350 06 400ex $3000 mx budget build!

So I bought me a 2002 400ex with a blown top end for $350 last summer. Right when I was getting ready to start the build I found a 2006 400ex with a bad rod for $800 so I bought it. Now what the plan is after parting the 2002 and selling some parts from the 06 I'm hoping to start back at $350 for the 06:) So with a budget of $3000 I'm wanting to make an all around good 400 that will hold it's own on the track. So far this is what I've got. Chime in and let me know what I should buy/do next. I'm starting the build this weekend and I'll be posting pics as I go. This is my first build by the way so any tips or tricks to make this easier would be greatly appreciated.

should be sweet man.. basketcase projects are the best.. in the process of doing one for my GF.. just about done.. minus PCing the frame which will be in a couple weeks probably.. and now running into RPM sprocket hub issues.. which is keeping me from finishing it.. but i will get it done.. but good luck with the build.. keep us posted..

A rather large budget must be awesome to to work with. I love creating a wish list for my 400.

Good luck with your build. Those sprocket hubs are a pain in the A**! The only reason I get to have a nice budget like this is due to getting the 400 so cheap. Hopefully I can get enough money from parting out the 02 and selling the parts I'm not using on the 06 build to make it where I didn't pay a penny for the actual ATV.:) Updating the list.

450r Shocks rebuilt by GT for $180???

Burgard Arms for $180??

I assume your finding all this stuff used, or have you already bought it?

Already got the arms new off eBay with tierods and ball joints just like from it came directly from burgard. The shocks were slightly used but were posted under ATV racing shocks on eBay so nobody could find those. Just have to get creative with your searches on eBay.

Will 450r calipers fit on the 400ex? I mean 400ex lines and everything just swapping the calipers.

The calipers will not fit without swaping to 06 or 07 450r spindles.

Need help. Ran into some problems with he rear end. I have a trx250r LSD axle locknut and hub I'm wanting to use but didn't come with a rotor. Before I buy a rotor was wanting to know if he the locknut/hub and rotor will fit my 400ex rear end?
