I have an 06 LTR with low end elka shocks on the front, yosh rs-5 exhaust, cherry bomb, razr tires, new crank and top end. a guy wants to make a trade to his 04 KX250F with new forks, billet clutch, white brothers exhaust, 06 radiator, steering dampener and a few other things. Should I ask for some money and the bike? if so, how much? what's that bike worth? Thanks for the help guys

Bikes aren't worth near as much as quads. If you traded straight up, he found a sucker. That bike is worth less than 2 grand around here. Maybe a little more if it's clean, but its still an 04.

yea just figure out what your quads worth. if the bikes really clean it'll go for a little over 2000. probably not under 2000 at all unless its really beat.

I think my quad should be worth somewhere around 3 or so...so i should be able to get some good money out of this thing

i'd think your LTR would be worth a little more than 3 if its in good condition. thats around here though prices really vary

I def wouldnt trade for an 04 kx250f, I have a 05 kx250f and ive had a few problems with it. The 04s had ALOT more problems. I would stay away from the 04s/05s

What kind of problems did they have?

Ive heard of alot of motor problems. Mine also has a problem with blowing oil out the crank case vent tube, along with everyone elses 04-05 kx's i know of. Also on the 04's to change the oil filter, you have to take the whole water pump housing off just to get the filter out. Do what you want, I just would suggest trading for a 04 kawi, it was there first year that had many problems. Id try looking for a 06 and up bike, something with an aluminum frame.

The guy bought the bike with a bad motor and had it all redone by ATP and also updated the bike with the 06 oil set up so you don't have to go around the extra stuff. I really wanted a newer bike but financially this seemed a little better for me right now. Need some cash...
