I was wondering if I could put the stroker crank on my 416. Reason I ask is all I see is 440's with it. Also If I made mine a 440 stroker how reliable would it be? I also wanted to know what sproket size I should get. I want a little bit more acceleration but still have a decent top speed.

sure you can, it might stroke it to a 426 or something like that. You can put a stroker crank in any motor. Ive heard reliability goes down a good bit with a 440 then it would even more with a stroker crank

I think a 416 bore with the stroker crank makes it a 440 stroker but dont quote me on that.A 440 bore with the stroker crank makes it a 460 stroker.I'd probly go with the stock 15t or a 16t sprocket.

you need to run the stroker piston with it, and yes it would make it a 440, Ive heard its more reliable than boring to a 440, youll want to upgrade your cooling system tho.

My 440 stroker has been as reliable as a stocker, I built the engine in April of 06' and no issues to date. I run my machine hard.
