My 400ex that i bought last july is a blast. I do trail and road riding. my question is, i bought it without a skidplate underneath the chain. All my buddies have skidplates, but my question is, should i invest in one?

Its all based on opinion
i use a skid plate, but i ****ing hate it myself
when i trail ride my 440 the skid plate gets me hung up on alot
but its better than paying for new sprockets/ swinger imo
Get one, its worth every penny to protect the under carriage there.

i would deffinitly take the time to get one
I have one on my and dont really like it juz cuz the bolts never stay in on mine but i wont take it off
my first 400 didnt have one and the first time i took it on the trails i hit a rock (hit where skidplate would b) and bent and cracked my brake rotor

there is a guy that sells them on ebay for $90 and that includes the arms. i have one for my 300 and i couldnt be happier. everytime i hear a rock or stump hit it i know it has paid for itself. they are cheap insurance
