hey guys.. bought a basketcase 400ex a while back and just got around to changing the break pads.. anyways they were super super super shot.. and the piston in the cailper is so far out i cant even slide one new pad in lol.. anyways. just wondering if i can just beat on the piston and get it to go back or put it in a vise and push it back to where it goes.. or fill me in on a good way to fix it.. or something..thanks guys..

i just went through this problem. 100%, all you have to do is put the caliper back on the dick, and use a screw driver and work your way up to a ratchet spreading/pushing the piston back in, but i just did this, and i put a parking brake block off plate on, and i still have no pressure on my pedal?

did you bleed the brakes enough?

use a c clamp to slowly push the piston back in. if it was that neglected, i would just go ahead and bleed the lines along with a rebuild kit. contact C&D racing for that.
