86-87 frame vs. 88-89 frame

I am rebuildin an 87 250r and when I bought it, it had the 88-89 swing arm which means they made their own rear engine mounts which broke. So the frame is stripped and I am looking for help on the best way to rebuild frame.

Keep swing arm/carrier/ and axle and weld in new engine mount?

Buy all new swing arm/carrier/ and axle and buy engine mount to place on swing arm bolt?

Also should I have the frame powder coated? The frame is not in great shape, is it worth the money. Just wanting wheeler to look and run good.
