I was changing my brake pads today and noticed when I spun the rear wheels there was a knocking sounds coming from the bearing carrier. Could this mean my bearings are shot or need to be lubed? Thanks in advance.

mine sounded very similar.. I just tore it down sunday and here's what I found... Note: I didn't attempt to remove any bearings, that is exactly what it looked like when i pulled the axle.

Wow that looks pretty bad Raper.
I looked at it closer today and it was the chain hitting the skidplate.
I remember reading about switching the linkage around to make it a little lower in the back. Does that actually work and how hard is it to do?

I took the chain and brakes off and it sounded normal when I rolled it. Now that the skid plates bent back how it was before there is no more sounds like that.

the chain or brake rotor was rubbing the skid plate then. may want to check if you got a hole now. my buddy ran his like that for a day and had a big chunk out of the sprocket side where the sprocket rubbed

There is little grooves now from the chain but I fixed it before it went all the way through.
Do you know anything about the linkage switching?

Haha. I remember reading something a few months ago about flipping the linkage upside down to lower the seat height.
