so i bent my stem and handlebars on saturday. my friend used to race a 450r and has some old parts so he gave me a jb steering stem clamps and pro taper 1 1/8 bars i got the 450r stem bushing and put it in. everything fit but when i tightened up the clap on the stem the steering was too tight. so i loosened it up about 3.5 turns and it works the handling does feel more responsive though is it okay that the clamp strews are 3.5 turns out? and should those upgrades make my steering more responsive? thanks

I had a similar problem, I replaced my stem with a stock one cause mine was bent and noticed the bearing had no lubricant on it. I took some wheel bearing grease and slathered the bearing and both metal plates and tightened it up and its smooth as silk now.

Not sure if your really supposed to do that but it worked.
