my g/f's bike keeps frying clutch cables because they keep getting to hot, it has a 450r carb on it has anyone else used one of them steel braded clutch cables with better luck? or maybe a longer one to rout a different way?

use a 250x cable. they can be routed down the frame instead of between the head pipes.

You can either bend the little wire loop that guides the clutch cable (it's on the front motor mount). Or you can buy a clutch cable for a 92 Honda 250X. It is longer and allows the cable to be ran down the right side of the frame.

you can also use a braided heat loom that is used for spark plug wires. It works good, but it doesnt look as clean as the 250x cable does.

OEM FTW. motion pro's have left me stranded a few too many times.
