We have a new Dell laptop with Windows 7 installed. Internet Explorer will open up fine, but when we try to do certain things like watch a video on youtube or open an email in yahoo, explorer will freeze up. What could be causing this? I tried using Firefox instead but got the same result.

if you are using 64- bit get ready. A lot of software for w7 64 is not supported. I'm purposely dumbing down my system and loading what programs I can in 32 bit. The problem with videos is flash player will not load do to some safety feature. I am running the latest firefox and have no problems so far.

I'm all too familiar with the 64 bit problems. We are going through that at work. But everything was working fine when we first got this computer. It just happened all of a sudden. We have McAfee installed, but it's not showing anything wrong.

Try doing a system restore to before you started encountering these problems.
