Help!!!!!!!!!

i have a 400ex i just put the white bros e seriese slip-on on. Im running with no airbox lid and im in michigan about 1000 feet. It ran only when i had the choke on and ran good but when i shut the choke off it started back firing and popin. it has a 148 main and i lowerd the clip on the needle to the second clip from the bottom. When i started it ran good but it didnt have that throttle response. it seems a little laggy. im thinking of putting a 158 or 160 main in. What do you guys think?

Did you change your pil.ot jet to a 42? and did you adjust your mixture screw? The main just wont help any for idle, it only does WOT. It needs to be richer sense when the choke is turned off it has problems, just get a bigger pilot, then go from there.

how many turns out should i have the pilot screw. i think now i have 3 1/2. I heard if its more then 2 1/2 you have to go the next size smaller. wich is a 42 right?

u need to go up a couple sizes on both, buy a secuence of about 4 main jets bigger than stock and go up untill it sputters when your wide open the with the choke off then go down one, and go for a 42 pilot and you should be set
