what will happen with 05 swinger on 06 bike?

you will go from a crappy rearend to a crappier one! Dont waste your money, get a good linkage and shock for your 06 swinger and it will be much better!

thanks for the info, should have made things clear. I am running a stock 06 swingarm with a custom axis 16 3/8 shock with a lonestar dc6 linkage. just purchased a 05 jd performance +1 1/4 swinger. hoping it will just bolt on or ?.

No it will not bolt up. To run a swingarm designed for the 04/05 bikes you must run a shock AND link for the 04/05. 06+ uses a different leverage link and shock.

IMO your better off with the setup you have, a stock 06 swinger is .75 of an inch longer than an 05, so the +1.25 is only 1/2 of an inch longer than your current setup, but uses the older link.

Now an extened cromoly swinger designed for the 06+ you would prob see a little bit more traction and added durabilty, but it must be designed for the correct linkage.

so is it a ratio problem or a clearance problem for the linkage and shock?
