so today i pushed my 300ex out of the garage and starter it up. i let it warm up and then i went into reverse and backed up and turned around. then as i was riding it hit the rev limiter just like it does in reverse. that early in the rpms. it did it in every gear.

this is the first time it has done it and i cant figure out why. can someone help me out here?

also i have not changed or done anything to it since last time where it ran fine

is you reverse light on when you are in gear? i had the low rev limiter happen to me so i just grounded the reverse wire that comes out of the clutch side case im pretty sure.

both good sugestions.

If neither one fixes the problem I would go to the carb next. You could have dropped the needle. It's a very common problem and it sounds just like the rev limiter.
