hitting rev limiter prematurely?

so today i pushed my 300ex out of the garage and starter it up. i let it warm up and then i went into reverse and backed up and turned around. then as i was riding it hit the rev limiter just like it does in reverse. that early in the rpms. it did it in every gear.

this is the first time it has done it and i cant figure out why. can someone help me out here?

also i have not changed or done anything to it since last time where it ran fine

Clean the connections on the right side bottom of the motor. They are behind the black metal piece.
