250r gods......lmk what you think

this 250r is for sale in my area, and well i would like to pick one up. but i don't know much about them. so i am looking to folks that do. let me know what you think about it;

and what you think it would be worth.

I don't know much about the quad except that he bought it about 8 yrs ago and sand dragged it some, but supposedly not much.

I am looking for a quad to tinker with and do some play MXing.

yes, but they say they are too big. any keys to resizing them? Or someone better at it than me that i can forward them to.

right click and open in "paint"
stretch/skew up in the top left corner
put in 25% in both stretch sections
go back up in the top left and hit "file" then "save as"
and save it somewhere you can find it

or use photobucket.com or tinypic.com(or net?)

anybody know what kind of engine this is with the Hammer on it??

I know what kind of swing arm this is, but does it look shorter? At least it does to me in the above pictures. Maybe it is just the angle.

its definitely a Laeger's swingarm. I had one in my possession a few years ago that looked just like that.

Its an 87 Frame, and the swingarm looks to be a -1 (88 length)

The engine was built 6 years ago... he doesn't say anything about what has been done recently to it. It seems like it as been sitting for a while. The rust on the cylinder bolts worries me... where else is there rust? I think you will have to spend a good bit of money replacing bearings/other wearable parts.

$3500 is high for this bike (It has stock shocks/a-arms)

I agree that he is high on his price. But I wanted to know if it was even worth it to try and talk him down. It has sat for many years he said.

250r's are hard to come by down here. I would really like to get one and fix it up a little and try to race in the local organization.

any one else have thoughts? opinions?

Yah i use that daily. i have yet to find much that is worth a dern. but i keep trying. most of the nice deals on here are too far to travel, and it is tough to purchase and have it shipped without looking at it.

same here. Its 20 minutes from me, about 4 1/2- 5 hours away from him. Im trying to get rid of my 400ex for the same price and if i do soon im definitely going to pick it up

Not sure what your budget is but this one has been for sale in Marksville, LA for ATLEAST 6 months now. He's been asking $3500 ever since I saw it listed several months ago.

that one is high priced IMO. I wouldnt give $3800 for it. Now the other one in LA is a nice bike. Very nice for $3500. It might still be a little high since its a stock frame but man its clean

I agree. That silver one is worth $2000-2500 at most. The blue one I probably wouldnt pay more then $3000 for. The fact thats its been for sale so long means he either is willing to deal on it or doesnt really need to sell it and wont budge off his price of $3500.

thats true. I have seen it for sale for quite some time. That one in denham is a killer price. It has been for sale for a while and it was $3200 for it, but now its $2200. Wish I could ditch my ex quick.
