clutch basket

does anyone know if the bolt that holds the clutch basket is regular thread or reverse thread and any helpful hints on getting this off. Cannot figure a way to hold it and still turn this bolt thanks for any info

It is reg thread. An impact will make it alot easier. Also you can put a penny in between the gears. The penny is softer than the gear or get the tool to hold it.

I definitely recommend getting the clutch holding tool! Rocky Mountain ATV sells a Tusk clutch holding tool for under $20, and it works great. You will be able to get it off with the penny, but I broke my basket trying to tighten it back up.

i have found that if you leave the clutches in the basket and hold them tight with a large pair of channel locks and put in the penny idea the bolt will back off with little trouble just watch out where you put the channel locks thanks for your feed back
