450R motor runs but makes a clickin noise

just got my motor refreshin up but when running and makes a clickin noise any ides wat it could be

These motors make alot of noise, especially when you run larger cams and aftermarket pistons. Do you have anything done to the motor?

ya hot rod crank,baldwin piston,sparks cam i but a probe and listen to the motor i think my clutch outer is shot and wackin back in fourth

pull the clutch in and see if that makes a difference. If the pitch of the noise changes as your pull the clutch then its the clutch, if not, it may just be the motor its self. Scro is right. The honda motor does get really noisy when you mod it.

My guess is the decompression valve. Mine does the same thing. But my mechanic took a look, everything looks and specs out just fine. Says he leaves the decomp. valve a little loose just because if its tight, it can wear on the cam really bad, and cause damage. He said it will make noise, but is fine. And if not, my engine is going through his front window if something blows!

kick it :)..lol it will make you feel better... they are loud... and since you refreshed it up, have you checked your valves afterwards??

ya i had them reshim after i put in though heat cycle and still did it then my mechanic said the balancer bearing maybe shacking i replace it with a new one the old one was a little bit bad and still did i i pull the clutch cover off and the basket is really lose i put a hinson on and its tighter and i order new bearing and selevee for it so idk will see wat happens later when i get home after work and start it up
