I went & got the #40 chain for the conversion from the 512. I get how you hook up the master link, but how in the world do you take the chain down to the correct size? Also, how many links total should the #40 chain be w/ a 13f & 26r?

a chain link tool maybe?
where'd u get it and what gears did you get/where did u get them as well?
I have the midwest mini gears with moose racing chains (bought my LT80s used)... I want to get some lighter chains too. lmk if u notice a difference :) my chain is beat so I need to replace it anyway and want to use a non o ring chain. I kinda thought I could just use a different chain... is the stock gear wider than mine or something? I don't see why I couldn't use a skinnier chain already...

428 sprockets from the dealer from a 87-88 lt80. I think lt80 said this combo has the least rolling resistance.
$18 a piece for the sprockets & $17 for 10' (enough for a few) of chain @ tractor supply.

It does roll easier. That's all i noticed though. Man you can come close to buying the 10' for what the shipping will be, its only $16 for the 10'. Plus id like to have the X-tra in case we break some, that way i dont have to buy more. Sorry.
