Ive herd that if i want my z400 to start easy that I should only use one hot cam so i can keep the decompression. But im not sure which one? I think it was the exhaust cam? Its for my son and it needs to start easy.

the hot cams do come with exhaust decompression, i think the older style cams didn't.

I dont know how easy it will be to find a used set of hot cams. But I can tell you that my quad starts just fine all the time and I have the new cams.

for the life of me i cant under stand why some one isn't jumping all over them, yeah they are set for a +5 stroke but so what , all yeah have to do is have them reset.hotcams would probably do it for free

I dont know enough about the hot cams to say that thats what i should use. I was told that with a stock bore that i should use a stage one hot cam buy a local shop. Im running a stock bore with a revbox a full yoshi system and a k&n with no lid? Do ur cams have the decompression on them. Also im gonna add a fcr carb.

Just buy a Hotcam intake cam. Don't do the exhaust cam, your not really gonna see a difference on a stock bore. IMO
