These should help you. It's for an 04/05, but you will want the same basic components.

The number of wires may be different, as well as the color of the wires. But, you will want to keep the same basic components (ignition, CDI, grounds, etc).

I would print out the wiring diagram, and highlight the wires that go to the components that you need to keep, just like what was done in that thread. Then just take everything else off.

so really they would be the same, its all the same components

I've never worked on a 06+ kicker, but I can't think of any reason why it would need anything else to run.

What is the throttle lever switch, it comes out of the throttle, should i splice this?

got it done, the only things im concerned on is the throttle lever switch, so i left it on, also, the neutral switch, i took it off because i think you only need it to use electric start, if you look at both the 06 up er and r diagrams, the r doesnt have it, so i think it will work, it will be a while before i can test this, but ill tell you then, if i were you and you would do this, get a service manual, it helped me alot, thanks alot scro, you are one of the more knowledgable people on here, unlike most of the people on these forums

the only ground i would need is the one for the spark plug wire right, and the kill switch

Yes, I believe that is right. The TPS will just need to be spliced together, like you said. The only thing the neutral switch does is send a signal to the neutral light...not really needed.

That's odd. I had mine cut out, and it ran fine. Do you still have the factory perch? If you don't, did you splice those wires together?

i am wanting to do semi gutting job to mine, just like the lights and such. would it be a good idea to just pull the wires out of the plugs or just cut them off at the end of the plug? all my lights and things are already cut but its not a clean job at all, from the previous owner. i was just wondering what you all thought would be best. if i would pull the wires out of the plugs would i put silicone in the hole to keep water out or what do you recomend?
