'07 & '08

My brother is looking at picking up two low hour LTR450's. One's a '07 and the other is a '08. Anything of particular interest that he should look out for?

08 had 100 changes to them all good.
better shocks with a coating on the shock shats that make less friction. cams are diffrent for more power. i heard the thottle bodys are a tiny bit bigger but unsure on that one.
but the down fall is 08 have 3rd gears go out.
but 06-07 have something with the shift pi t hingy unsure on that
