I am working on a 1986 Honda fourtrax 350 which my FD got given to them. It did not run when received. I have soaked and rebuilt the carburetor (worst one i've seen, slide was stuck in place, took 3 days of soaking to free up). I have put the carb back on and have fixed many more things. I took it out for a test drive the other day and was not impressed with how it was running. I followed the book on how to adjust the carb. It told me to turn the adjusting screw in till the engine dies and then back it out 2 turns. I had the screw all the way in and the engine never died. I backed it out one and a half turns. I think i still don't have it right but don't know how to fix it. When you get off the throttle it starts popping, almost like backfiring. I am going to shoot the engine with a temp gun next time out to see what temp it is running.

Any suggestions on how to adjust the carb further??????
