I eventually want to get a +2 Burgard stem with the antivibe clamp. But for now I'm looking for a cheap alternative to raise my bars up a few more inches. Just wondering what the best option was. I was looking at these (http://tinyurl.com/yjhktfe) or maybe the similar Rox ones.

I would say that either one would work good for you. If i was going to leave it, I would get rox ones but if you want a stem dont spend too much on them. just my .02 though, steve

Haha yeah. The Rox raise the bars an inch and a quarter compared to just the inch that the others do.

Would these work for an EX?

Rox Racing Pivot Risers 3" (http://tinyurl.com/yevb6e6)

Pretty sure they're universal, right? If I added 3" would I have enough slack on my cables?

i dont think the 3 inchers would leave any room for slack. my friend had the +2s on his with medium bend bars and they are way too tight he had to re run stuff and get longer stuff

this idea would only be cheap if you had access to a welder and had some steel rod laying around. i raised mine up 4" and ive done a few of my buddies quads this same way... it takes a little time but it cost me nothing. i took my steering stem out of my quad and cut it in half. i then cut a piece of 7/8 solid rod 4" longer than the stem and put the two halves of the stem back together with the solid rod inside of them and welded it all back together. its best to have the rod go the whole length of the stem for strength. it got the bars up and hasnt bent at all. for me it was free, if you had to buy the rod it would prob be like 20 bucks. alot cheaper than a new stem.
