Front brake caliper help please

When i took my front brakes off to install my 400ex front end they were working fine, then when i went to put them back on i couldn't get them to compress the whole way back in. They will compress about 1/4 of the way in then if you pull the lever come the whole way back out, so i disconected the lines thinking maybe it was keeping them front compressing.. Now they are off, and i have a C-clamp on them trying to get them to go the whole way in, no luck. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Had that problem on my left front caliper. I washed it with soap and water with a tooth brush used emery cloth on the piston and it went in all the way. I think it was just real dirty.

i just cleaned them up really good and they slid in easily now, i lubed them with pb blaster and silicone spray, im gonna put them together and put them on and see wat happens. i hope they come out now lol

Mine worked better than I remember them ever working after I cleaned them up and greased them so I think you will be ok
