factory suspension lengths?

I'm sending my shocks out to GTT and I need to know what the factory a-arm and swing arm lengths are for an 87.

Also the factory front shocks are 15" correct? Im going to use 450r shocks and need to know what size to shorten them too.

stock 250r front shocks i believe are 16.25

Yes, I also believe stock front shock length is 16.25" 450r stock is 16.75"

good thing i asked then before i got a set of really short shocks back.

Sorry guys, but stock shocks on stock a-arms are around 15.75"

Tire size plays a big role. OEM tires require shorter shocks. If you have 19" fronts 16-16.5" shocks may work.

If you want to find out what length shock you need, you need to go through the procedure listed here:

First remove all three shocks place the atv on a stand or block that is 12" high (make sure the tires that you are going to use are mounted on the atv) now measure from the center of the upper shock mount to the lower shock mount right this down for the front and the back. Next place the atv on the floor with a 2x4 flat under the frame and retake the measurement. Your shock guy will need these measurements.
