Went riding today in a local area with a friend of my brothers and my brother and decided to see what it would do against another bike. His friend has a KFX400 and we decided to line them up. His mods are filter, jetted, and piped. Mine are in my sig. 1, 2, and 3 we were about even and 4 and 5 i literally pulled about 4 bikes on him. Mine ran strong all the way through. Pretty good race.

Then i ran my brother, he has a 330 big bore 250r. I caught him in 2nd and hung with him till he hit midway through 3rd and he yanked me lol, i knew it wouldnt be pretty.

Then we found a small flat track which is what my bros quad is set up for so he went first because i figured he would pull us around the track but i stayed with him the whole time, i was right on him every turn but couldnt get enough on him to get around him

so overall im happy with the 400ex. Potent little bike for such a small package

Glad you got it settled. Aren't you glad you didn't throw the 450 carb in the woods now?

No doubt, I'm going to drop my pilot to a 50 and turn the screw in some. It's still taking a little time to idle down to normal

won't that make it run leaner? I thought when you drop down the pilot you turn it out some to compensate and vice versa.

Hanging idle is a symptom of a lean condition. Fatten her up!

meant the 55 lol amd turn the screw in some. It's not lean according to the plug and it only does it at idle

How are you doing the plug chop?

WOT for 10-15 seconds in 5th then killing and coasting to a stop

Yea.... Well you are testing the main jet. The idling problem is the low speed jet! Next time let it idle for awhile, then shut it off and check it.
