need help, maier rear fender

so im not new to atvs but im new to the 250r. i just bought this 86 and it had no rear fenders. i bought some maiers but what im guessing is the stock rear seat hook is placed about 2 inches back from the hole on the fenders. just curious if its placed wrong on the seat before i go cutting these new fenders. thanks!

are you referring to the lever to remove the seat/fender from the frame? on my maiers the lever mounted up fine. double check it. or correct me if im referring to the wrong part...

yeah, the latch to remove the seat! the holes line up for the two rubber supports but the latch it self is about 2 inches to the rear of those.

you wouldn't be doing what i did when i got mine without plastic are you? the mounts come off the seat then you lay the plastic on the seat then bolt the brackets on so that the plastic is between the brackets and seat. The plastic and seat come off as one piece on these.

expert... no i just already cut up a set of maier and after realizing it didn't work i went and found a shop manual lol
