Im just finishing up my build and my tie rods are too thing? are the 400ex tie rods thinner then stock ones? my new tie rods just slip in and out of the tie rod ends.
what am I doing wrong here?
also my stem seems to be too short? it has been repaired and the clamp doesnt go up high enough on the stem to mount. are some aftermarket frames lower then stock?

most if not all honda tie-rods are a 12mm1.25 thread, outers are a RH thread and inners are a LH thread. Laeger t-pin tie-rods are a 7/16-20 thread, those might alittle bit smaller. Most all the other aftermarket tie-rods for hondas are 12mm1.25 as well. Laeger just had to be different, you might have yamaha tie-rods, I believe they are smaller threads. As for the steering stem, are you sure its a 250r stem? Its could be something that was mis-matched as well.
