Hi, I'm new to the forum(obviously) and was wondering if my Works tripple rate no resiv. front shocks (stock size) will work with the houser slicast standard travel a-arms +1" size. I have an '02 400ex
Thanks for the help

Yeah, as long as the shocks and arms are both standard travel you should have no worries.

Welcome to the site.

Thanks man, I appreciate the help. Is KBmotorsportsonline.com good to order from?

Ok, so i placed my order for the houser slicast max clearance +1" arms, and just got my works shocks in the other day. Other than the extended brake lines, anything else i'll need for the install? Should I have a shop install everything or do it myself?

You won't need extended lines for +1s. I'm running stock lines with my +2s and still have enough slack for the full range of steering. Now, if you want to get some stainless lines for better performance, that is a different story. As for the install, it's a matter of four bolts and a tie rod on each side. I had mine on in about an hour. And that was with a few beer breaks in between haha.

haha yeah I hear ya. I'll have a 12pack on ice ready for my install! Cant wait to get my arms in so I can install these new shocks. I'm very curious as to how my 400ex will handle after the new arms and shocks compared to how it is now(STOCK)

I suppose if they are not required, I'll just keep my stock brake lines on for now and see how it goes. Maybe upgrade later if I get the itch. I'll post up pics of the install and the finished product.

BTW, what do you think about the PEP stabilizer? Should I go with that or a diff brand? Thanks again!

A lot of guys here like the CCP Stabilizer. You can check them out here (http://shop.ebay.com/custom-cnc-parts/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50). He doesn't have any listed for the 400EX but if you send him a message he should be able to get you hooked up with one.

Good luck with the install.

Ok, so Houser doesnt do the mgc arms for the 02 400ex so I decided to go with the jd performance +2" standard travel arms. Can I run my new front end with my stock rear axle? I plan on getting a wider rear axle but not for another month or so... Will it be ok to run it with the wide front end and the stock rear end for now? Or should I wait and get a wide axle first?

EDIT
I guess i could go with those g force extended rear wheel hubs. I see you have those in your sig... How are they?

You'll be fine with the front being wider than the rear, since the rear has a smaller width it may tend to come out from behind you alittle when taking a sharp corner, but its nothing bad.

My hubs are actually coming in today. I don't do any aggressive jumping or anything, so I don't need to get an axle. I've only heard good things about the hubs, too. But I've been running my +2 arms with the stock rear width for about a month now with no problems.

Well that's good to hear, thanks for the responses guys. I really only trail ride by the bayou behind my house and ride on the beach in galveston, so I guess I dont really need a new axle. There's really not much to jump where I ride by the house...

If you dont mind maybe posting up a pic or two of the g force hubs when you get them installed. I may just go that route.

Yeah I'll try to get them on today if I have time. I would go with them if I were you. They're half the price and work of an axle. Only reason I'd go with the axle is if I were racing.

Yeah, I was actually surprised with how meaty they look. I'm having trouble getting my stock right hub off, though. I don't have a 28mm socket and neither checker or autozone have one. They have 27mm and 29mm, but no 28mm. Go figure. Gonna have to go over to harbor freight and get one.

Stilling at just about 49.5" in the rear now.

Oh, and I had my 1st roll over friday after work! I was trying to do some drifting in a grass field with my BALD rear tires and pretty much lost control. Hit my head kinda hard on the grass, but that is what helmets are for right!?

Luckily I just bent my clutch lever, but I cant seem to get it bent all the way back to the way it was. I'm thinking I needed a new one anyways b/c there was/is so much up and down play in it
