can a stock rear shock be rebuilt well enough for competitve XC racing>>>

please let me know- iv found a great deal on one- just need to know!

Yes they can, I have a stocker that arlan lehman of led engines redid for me that's as good if not better as the axis I have on my other bike. The 86,87 shocks are cheaper to modify as the body is internally longer, the 88-9s have to be machined to get the same travel.

Try Baldwin. Mark did a rebuild, revalve, and respring on my stock shock that I used in GNCC for years. It works great.
