ok, i dont want to sounds like an idiot and this isnt ona 250r chassis, its on a250x chassis... the front end has some cracks so i was going to make it kind of a narrow frame and bring the lower rails in but i dont want to have a hack job, i want it to look like it came from honda like that, so when i move the lower rails in would have to get a custom a-arm made or could a guy get a +2 lower and a +1 upper and have everything work out... i dont fully rember if the +1 is +1 on each side or over all its a +1( making it a +.5 on right and +.5 on the left)

this chassis isnt stolen, i got it from a buddy cause i helped in get a good one and he was gonna scrap it. i would like to get it all fixed up and make a hybred out of it and put a 250f in it...

what are your thoughts on the chassis changes?

IMO..........no. But that's just me. I know the next guy is gonna jump in here and say "start hacking away", and "this is what these forums are for", and "stop being a meanie", and "let's all cry together and give eachother hugs". In the end, it's up to you.

sounds like too much work to me for a 250 4-stroke...

im no chassis builder but i think you'll find that on a true narrow frame they have moved the upper a-arm mounts in the same amount they did for the bottom..

making the lower arm longer and not doing the same to the top will induce positive camber as the suspension goes through its arc.

if i were you id hack straight in and try it... who cares its just a cracked 250x frame right? at the very least youll learn some about suspension geometery.

if you go ahead and do it i would look into also moving the tie rod mounts on the steering stem closer to each other as well... im not sure if thats what they do on the laeger narrow frames etc, so it would be worth finding out.

good luck

oh shes cracked alright! i'll get you some pics of it some time tomorrow... the narrow frames i've seen the lower a-arms are really close then the uppers see to be like in a OE place... not moved in at all...

could some one tell me about how they are, i need to put new shock towers on it and the 2 rails that the tower is mounted on aswell, shes all bent up....

I got some work ahead of me, im gonna start on it today i think, well choppin suff off of it today,

i dont want to fully copy leagers or roll, i want it to handle better then a 300ex and be kind of like a 250r...

what are the pros and cons of adjustable upper shock towers? i was thinking about making some of them for it also

ok so i got started on it today, i got the shock towers and the rails the shock towers mount on cut off, the were bent up really bad, i'll post some pics of this hopefully tonight, i have them on my phone.. i've been looking at a walsh chassis and a Lonestar and im trying to decide on what way i want to go, i have a feeling im going to make the front end of this quad to run a 250r a-arm set up cause i have some of them for this one aready... but the more i look at it im starting to think im gonna end up cutting off more cause of how the chassis is set up from the factory with the 45* ish rails that run by the motor mounts...

i thought since i was going the front end i might as well do the rear end also, this chassis isnt going to be a production state chassis any more so i was thinking about welding mounts in for a CR500 like or something, make the rear end different,

Im going to prolly have a crf250f in it when im totally done, if i dont have a crf in it, it would prolly be a kxf. i'm gonna get a whole bike honda and kawi is what i've been around the most...
