'07 Ex

I'm highly considering buying an '07 EX. What plastic color is best red/black(i.e. doesn't scratch and looks best). Would I be able to use the skid plate, handle bars, exhaust and nerf bars off of my '02 EX?

i would say if you are looking for a color to hide scratches go with red the handle bars will fit and i think the other stuff will to but not 100% sure

Defiantly go with red. Black will scratch.

Yeah that's the tough decision, but this will be a major upgrade with the reverse. Does anyone know of any differences other than revers and plastic on the 07? Any problems with that year?

I cant help you on the deference’s, but I can tell you, I have ridden the piss out of mine and I have had no issues with it. I practice like I race and that’s flat out all the time.

i have an 05 which is pretty much the same thing and i have had no major issues with mine. i love it. my friends make fun of me for having reverse and not being man enough to just pick it up myself but i would rather just pop her in reverse and not have to lift my four wheeler. that is pretty much the only up side to getting a 05+ i think the older ones look better but thats just me

All your bolt on stuff from the 02 will work with the 07.
The only difference is the gearing,reverse and the body.
No issues at all with my 07.
Def go with the red one IMO. Heres mine.

Gotta show love for the red. Also, can't count how many times reverse has saved me where I wouldn't be able to just pick it up and swing it around.

Now that everyone has told you red, I gotta tell you that I love my black one. I've had it about a year and a half and ride trails only. as for scratches, I can't say that it worse than the red cause I've never had a red. I'll get some pics up for you.

Thanks for the input everyone. I decided on the black, I figured I'll just give it a try and see how it comes out. I'll post pics as soon as I get it.

if you dont like the black you can buy some red off ebay or maier for fairly cheap i personally like the older 400 plastics but i love my 05 i like the headlight setup better on the old ones but its still nice. mines yellow and you cant tell the scratches unless you REALLY look for them. the only problem with them is the reverse the 05 and 06 were recalled because you could shift to reverse without the switch while you were fling and rip the tranny and maybe kill you. but with the black as it scratches, they will fill with dust and have brown stripes in your plastic.

When was this recall? never heard of it but i know a couple ppl with 05s.

i got my recall awhile ago, like a few years ago!!! if you like the old school fenders for the front they will bolt right on, ive done it to mine cause i like the old look

Wow that sounds like a bad problem, but at least mines an '07 so I think I should be fine. On the scratches filling with dirt, I'll just have to maybe get scratch filler and see if that cures the problem, if not I'll definitely be replacing the plastic.

you could also get a graphics kit, that way the stickers/decals will scratch and not the plastic. and you could get whatever color you want.

I just got mt '07 last weekend. Its red, but iplan on getting a Graphics kit to spice it up a bit!.

There is also a scratch repair kit. I have heard it can get pricey, but if it is a big concern it may be worth it.

my 05 got recalled in 06 all that was wrong was the spring kit for the reverse switch wasnt stiff enough so they put in the 07 spring kit
