Carb problems

ok i posted a thread b4 that said when my 400ex is on an angle it leaks gas well it still does (when at like a 40 degree angle or so)
ok well today it was nice and i got a chance to ride and open it up a little bit but when i hit mid-high rpms mostly high it starts to backfire and pop
it does pop a lil on decell, does this mean its running lean or even rich
i did change my pipe from a white bros e-series to a white bros r4, could this have anything do do with it becasue it is more of a free flowing exhaust?
i was thinkin carb was dirty b4 cleaned it all and now it does this?
any ideas on what it is?

Does the popping and backfire happen wile giving gas or on decel?

well it pops slightly on decel
but when i hit topend on accel is when it loses power and pops or backfires
im going to put my other carb on todau and bump my jetting up to a 148 c what that does cause im pretty sure the jets r stock never checked the #s but i will today

If it is popping on decel it is lean. Is it leaking fuel from the vent tube??

well there is an overflow that goes to the bottom of the bowl and thats where it leaks from
I put a 148 main in it
the other jet didnt have any #s on it but when i went to pull the jet it snaped in half where the top of the jet that would have the #s on it screws down into the long part
Im gona go get about a 155 or so and see if that does the trick
