Hey guys,

Last summer I started using my cheapo camelbak ripoff (was like $20, it's uncomfortable, cheaply made, water tastes bad, and has no room for anything other than the water) when trail riding.

Now that I understand the importance of having a good hydration system while out for long rides, I was wondering if you guys could reccomend a particular model of camelbak, how much was it and where you bought it? I know motosport and rockmountain stock a few, but haven't looked into them in any detail.

Also it's important that it fits over my chest protector and jersey.

Thanks

What offbrand did you have? I have a High Sierra 1.5 liter pack and I have no complaints, seems to work perfectly fine for me..and it was a whole lot less then buying the brand. Mine was $25 and the camelbak 1.5 liter is $48

@ goldfish:

schwinn haha... they are a bicycle maker.

I bought it at Canadian tire, they sell Schwinn bikes there, Canadian tire is kinda like Wal-Mart but without most of the clothes (they have some work clothes), without the food, more sporting equipment, more home stuff, etc. I'll check out the High Sierra one also.

@ hondapower, I'll check out the OGIO one.

I tried a walmart one and it just didnt fit right. I like the mouthpiece on the camelback brand ones. I have gone through a few in my race career because I forget to wash them and they get moldy and its cheaper to buy a new one than just the bag usually.,,lol

Bought a Swiss one at Sams club. It was cheap and has plenty of storage! Works great and has like a 10 year warranty?

This is the one I bought from Rocky Moutain ATV.. I really like it and use it all the time.. I don't just use it for riding.. Right before I go out I fill it with some ice and fill with cold water.. When it's hot out that 100oz of water goes quick though...

It also has pockets for keys or your wallet or other stuff like that..

I have the 50oz Camelbak cheapo. I do not wear it racing anymore. I like camelbaks, but my next one will be a bigger version so that I have the chest straps and what not.

You won't see my pull up to the line at an XC race without mine. It's a life saver, especially when warm weather rolls around.

I still wear the same Camelbak brand one I've had since 05.

I tried wearing one during a race once, but I was wasting so much time trying to get the damn thing in my mouth it wasn't worth it. They are nice for trailriding though.
