l scored a 2001 banshee that was rebuilt in 2008 by a local shop. lt has wiseco pistons(not sure on size), stage 2 v-force reeds, and Blaster hubs and wheels in the rear(Why is this a good thing?). Other than that mostly stock.

He also gave me 2 helmets, a chest protector, boots, 3 extra rims and tires, and a tether!

Anyways the first thing l like to do to my quads is pipe them. l've been reading on bansheehq and it looks like my best choices are between T-5s and FMF Fattys.

l ride pretty much all around, some trails, some ice racing, some wide open trail type stuff.. whatever.

Which pipe do you think l should get? T5 or Fatty? Or for that matter do you think a different pipe would be better?

Welcome!

First off, let me just say when it comes to Banshee's, this site is pathetic and everyone's a bunch of banshee haters. haha. But I will help you out.

Congrats on the new shee. I can't believe it has stock pipes, lol. When you put pipes on a banshee, the difference is amazing.

For mainly wide-open applications and fast trails, I would recommend DMC 916's. They have lots of top end and gobbs of upper mid-range. Bottom end is pathetic though.

For more of trails with some occasional wide open, I would say FMF Fatty's or SST's. Pro Circuts are pretty good too.

To be honest, although a LOT of people will disagree, I don't like Toomey pipes on the banshee. I think they sound crappy and have an odd powerband. That's just my opinion.

You can't go wrong with a shee bro. When you start looking at pipes take a look at trinity pipes as well. I had toomys and didn't like them went to trinitys new stage six pipes and they play like a flute. They are good from stock to around 700cc

Thanks for the advice! l took it up to the carwash to rinse it off because l don't think the kid ever washed it.. lol. but on the way home it bogged out and stopped running. lt was real fun sitting on the side of the road. haha

A guy l knew from school wound up driving by and gave me a lift home. l decided the previous owner probably didnt have it tuned right so l got a clymers, 2 plugs, and a filter and tore it apart.

Turns out the carbs were WAYYY out of sync. l got those sync'd back in tune, adjusted the a/f mixture & idle, and decided to go the rest of the way to drain the fuel and add new. l also fixed the exhaust connections that were ripped to hell.

To my surprise it started first kick! Idle was a little high, but that was a simple fix. Took it for a spin and had a smile the whole time!

Oh, What is the advantage of having Blaster hubs and wheels?

I second the Trinitys, great pipe but Toomeys are also a good choice for a stock bike. Id skip on the DMC's though. BHQ sucks, checkout BansheeCentral................

Id get the Toomeys if those are your to choices seems like you have alot of opprotunity to go fast and ring its neck. Actually Id say hell go for CPI inframes! Theyll give you WICKED mid topend and from what ive heard dont completely destroy the bottem end A little clutching could solve that easily. Good luck and welcome to the banshee world!

Well hope you have good luck with your new shee. I got mine and about two hours after I bought it I was riding and it just quit. We checked it out and it had lost all compression. When we tore it down we found the guy I had bought it from had epoxyed the top of the piston to get it running long enough to sell it. I wish I could find the guy so I could ring his neck.It wound up costing me $800.00 on top of the $3000.00 I paid for the bike. It tends to bum you you out when people do you that way.

I run toomy T5s there a good all around pipe. The t6 is one of the best pipes for unported motors. pro circuts are good for mid to low. I dont know alot about the fattys but I know alot of people run them. But in my opinion if your on a budget get whatever you can at a good price. If your good with a polisher a little rust can save you a lot of dough. if you google whats the best pipe your gonna get alot of dumbasses sayings stupid ****. the answer what the best pipe is is whats gonna give you what you need no doubt cpis and shearers give you more power but they are top end pipes or drag pipes get a good trail pipe. personally I would say T5s because they give you room to grow in the future.

I agree with sangherent I think he pretty much said it I just want to add that the fmf pipes are pretty decent for a stock set up I have run them before but it is pretty easy to outgrowthepower curve on the fmf fairly quickly. The chrome is not near as good as most other pipes but you get what you pay for. Just try to get the best bang for your buck. :macho
