hey everyone. i picked up a 04 450r not too long ago. it has a 12.5:1 piston, HRC cam, open air box , K&N,& HRC header and custom muffler. my buddy with a 06 450er with a 13.5:1 piston yoshi muffler, and i think pro design air filter says his will stomp all over mine even if i gear mine up.


now i usually dont get into arguments over whose faster cuz i dont care much, but i wanna shut him up in the worst way i either gotta beat him on wheelers, or i might freak out and smash his face in.

so tell me. will he win?

ALSO he runs his mouth and says mod for mod his wheeler would be faster. once again i dont wanna resort to violence to shut him up so i'm turning to you guys.

just lookin for some info. thanks

Depends what ur custom exhaust is lol.

I'd say it would be close right now, his might be a tad faster.
Your HRC cam is the best thing going for you right now, great for dragging.

Gearing and tire size also means a lot for drag racing.

If he has any type of cam your done.

From my experience the 06s are faster mod for mod until you get into stuff like headwork and stroker cranks.

I hope you're joking about smashing your buddy's face in, but why don't you just run him? If both of you have the same gearing and the same size tires, equal traction, and equal ability, should be pretty close. I would have you say his bike will probably jump off the line and be a little quicker from 1st to 3rd, but you should be able to pull him back in in 4th and 5th. Let us know who wins.

It's still mostly rider even in drags and holeshots.

Straight lines don't mean anything to me. Both of you should knock it off and hit the track, that will prove something. :devil: ;) lol

race him n dirt! tell him 2 slam the throttle wide open and dump the clutch. so he smokes the tires clean off! lol then u gradually take off so u dont spin the tires and u will smoke him.:blah:

lol that'll almost work. i just found out he is plus 2 teeth on the front sprocket, and i'm stock. so i'll race him on gravel, blow his doors in on the starting line, then let him eat dust after that.

and i would love to race him on a track, but there really isn't one near by to race on

with two teeth up on the sprocket you should kill him off the start but he will have you on top end for sure! but weight make a big diff also! my buddy had a 416ex and when i got my 450r i would take him off the start and he would run me down. and when i was on his 416 i got him a little off the start and he just blew my doors off after 3rd gear.

in my experience, its not whos bike is faster... it's who can ride better

thats true. but alot of what we ride is open roads, where top speed is the factor. like we can ride wheelers right down to our local shop and its almost all paved road
