anyone on site live near the Seattle or Everett Wa area, that ride sand or mx a lot? Me and the girlfriend are sort of new to the area, and we are looking for some more sand people to ride with. We go to Moses Lake, and the Oregon Coast, not sure if there is more sand than that around? My girlfriend pretty much only rides sand, but I am a motocross junkie from way back, so a good mx track is just as good to me...

MX is always good, but sand is typically much easier and less intimidating for young/ less expericenced riders. What is there for mx tracks in this area?

well, there used to be alot more but they closed them down to quads

the main one we go to is straddleline not the greatest but the smaller track is great for my daughter she is only 5, she is pretty aggressive for being so young but she hasn't been able to ride since i have been gone. riverdale is another good one but it is a pretty far drive but i havn't been to many more than that i have been told that they have all been shut down.

How is moses lake?

Moses is OK for a quick weekend ride. Nothing real big or scary there, thats for sure. All small easy to ride stuff. Gets sort of boring quick for me, but there is alot of room. A lot of trails, that wind way back in and around. And its also free, so its hard to pass if the weather is good. We might go in a few weeks. We just bought a toy hauler, so once we get it cleaned up and dialed in, we want to take it and try it for a few days, but still be close enough, in case something is messed up, or doesn't work

My girlfriend and I ride Honda 450's. We also have some old Honda 3 wheelers we ride quite a bit.

thats pretty cool i like toys lol our bikes are pretty much stock but we are working on that slowly. i usually spend more time taking care of my daughter while she is riding than i do riding but i hope that the dunes will take care of that. not so much coaching to be done. what kind of paddles do you use?

We run ITP Sand Stars on our 450's. Tire wise they are set up all the same.

i have heard people say that you don't want to use paddles at moses lake cause it will ruin them is that true? what other tires would you run, mx tires?

Moses is rocky in some spots, but paddles are fine there. I have never had a problem with paddles there. I would say if not paddles, then the OEM Honda 450r or 400ex tires, just aired down a bit would be just fine.

Me and my boyfriend go to Moses Lake once in a while. We usually go to Straddleline and hit up the mx track and the trails. It's not to far away and it's a pretty fun track. Other than that, Belfair has some decent trails, but the rangers are pricks :grr:

Here's a couple places that are strickly mx....
http://www.longviewmx.com/
Down by the Oregon border. They have like 3 tracks. A couple sand tracks and a big dirt track with a massive table top! Pretty fun place and really technical.

Not to far from Moses Lake. They have a few different tracks and a freestyle course. I haven't rode there, but I've been there before. My brother used to hit up the freestyle course on his dirtbike. Pretty insane stuff!!

Other than that.... it seems like a lot of tracks are for dirtbikes only:( If anyones knows of any other quad friendly tracks, let me know!!!

That's weird:confused: I went there in September and there was a bunch of quads and everyone was sharing the track! I'd give them a call again and see what they say.
The only thing about Straddeline I don't like. It can get really busy. It's nice when they rotate dirt bikes and quads on the track, then its not to bad on busy weekends. I have a friend that lives right next to Straddeline and we just hit the logging roads to get in:D

Toes has banned quads due to an incident a few months ago.

Longview is closing down permanently.

OPMC, Riverdale, Cadillac Ranch, Spokane, Horn Rapids all allow quads. Cadillac Ranch is having a quad practice this Sun/Mon. OPMC and HR need at least 3 quads to have a practice. I don't know about Hannegan or Spokane. Eddieville allows quads too.

Both of you would know this if you got on the Pit more :D

Well there's your problem!!

Cadillac Ranch looks super sweet! If I was not going to the dunes I would definitely try to go there. & It's only an hour away (for you an me at least) in Tenino.

Sandlake is going to be CROWDED. Lots of people going there.

We're headed to Coos with some friends. We have other friends at Winchester too.

We are thinking about going to sandfest.Have you been to sandfest yet? Went to dunefest last year.Wasn't to impressed, kind of overrated i thought.Better and cheaper on any other day.

right now we are planning on doing both. I went to dune fest last year in August, and it was ok, yeah, cheaper on any other day for sure. I have some buddies that go, and some vendors that I want see and its the closest "big" sand around, so we make the trip down whenever we can
