which carb will work best for 114 kit ? I will be keeping the stok airbox for xc racing . also will the intake elbow have to be changed for a bigger carb? this is for a 07 trx 90 electric start.

We run a CRF100 carb with stock "elbow". I know a lot of guys use this carb for 114cc set ups, bolts to the stock intake and can use stock air box. Ours is the pull start model but still should work for you.

We have a 25mm carb and a 25mm intake on a 52mm cylinder. It runs well. I suggest getting a bigger intake, They only cost 20 bucks for an intake. Will bolt right up. The stock intake is so restricted,it's like running a restrictor plate on it.I just bought a carb and intake for like 75 bucks pm me and I'll give u the site. U will like it.

Are u running an oil cooler on that kit. It produces alot of heat and will lose alot of hp when it gets to warm. We have melted dipsticks in some 114 kits they got so hot but still finished the 1hr race. And this was with a cooler, That site has them cheap also.

I agree on the larger intake and/or port the stock one to match the carb bore and intake port.

i wouldnt go any lower than a 25mm. i dont know if the 25mm has the same problem as the 24mm i tried to use but when i tried the 24mm i couldnt get the bog out of it on quick shots of throttle. i changed all jets and pilot it didnt matter. if you are running the 22/25 head that i think you are running i had to use the 26mm mikuni with 26mm id intake, and i took a intake relocater and drilled it out to a 26mm to make the carb sit straight back. the 25mm would probably work if you could find the right air flow for it(intake size).

I know for a fact that this 25mm setup works great with the 52mm cylinder and the high domed high compression piston. But we run Klotz race fuel in it because of the high compression piston. No bog here.We get this stuff from DrATV or Beatrice Cycle. This set up is very dependable and will produce the same HP of 11HP at the start of the race all the way to the checker flag.

I've tried a pwk 28mm carb and it will not work on an electric start engine. The carb hits the starter. If u go to the performance parts section on that site you will see the 25mm carb for $49.99 and the intake for $22.99, it's for the 185 cc engine.

Hope this helps.

the 114cc setup is a 54mm bore for one thing. 52mm bore with stock stroke is 105cc. and cylinder size has absolutely nothing to do with what carb to run. you want to look at what size valves on the head you are running VS. compression to figure out what size carb to run. bigger valves require more air. now you will get to a point were you are running to big of valves for your bore and stroke. this is how to figure out cc.

bore x bore x stroke x number of cylinders x 12.87 / 16386 = CC
