Hey guys! I am wanting to get a motor and put it on my bike to get me around town faster, however, I need to to be small, powerful, preferably/reasonably cheap, and pretty quiet motor I can mount on my bike. I have a Trek Y3 mountain bike so I can't mount anything to my frame, it has to be friction drove.

The rules for Ohio is it has to have (maximum) 50cc's, 1hp, and max of 20mph... SCREW THAT! What can I get that is small, powerful, cheap, and quiet!?

look on ebay for some bike engine kits. they have a ton of 50cc and a few 80s. a few guys at school have them and they are a little loud. plus these things go up to 30mph

I say weed whacker or edger with a silencer lol. Just pedal to get it going then i would think it would keep you going it probably just couldnt go from dead stops.

Ok.. fine... lol

Right now I have a Stihl Weed Wacker (mini beast) but I'd still need to find a clutch for it and stuff.. right now I am looking for a beasty old chainsaw that doesn't run and I'd fix it up! That would be nice being they already have a clutch!

Just put a 110cc pit bike motor on there and lie to everybody and tell them it'll only push one horse lol.

put an electrical motor on it, then an alt. that would run off a gear to repower the batt... some what.. just get a smaller batt that would give you enough jucie to get around...
