hey guys, i just had a problem with my head, well i pulled my cams out to do the cam mod, and i had found that my intake cam has wore down the journals that it rides in, it wore it down all the way to the valve caps, there was no clearance between the cam and the caps, i cant even get the other two caps out.. if you guys have any ideas about what could of caused this, please let me know. thanks.

here are some pics.

1. Ran without oil or oil flow was restricted.
2. Over torqued cam caps.
3. Dirt ingestion past the airfilter.

I don't think it was dirt. Was this the first time you had this motor apart? Are you the original owner? Looks to me like there is no oil in the head at all.

yeah i am the first to have it apart, but i have the head off and i had cleaned all the oil off of it, but it gets oil to it, it had a ton of oil in it.
i just don't know why all of a sudden it just stopped starting. and my horsepower dropped.

here is a pic of the cam cap...

Almost sure no oil there is a way to check to see if the oil line was working, of corse you have to put it back together but the bolt on the side of the head needs removed while running. You should see oil running out of the bolt hole while running. I hope this helps i know its too late but always check at every valve adj.

i see some oil in the picture but like yousaid you cleaned up alot of the oil. so the only thing i can think of is someone tightened the cam journals to tight. they just need to be snug. i think 7 lb's is the torque on them
