After about 30 minutes of riding all of a sudden the electric start quit working. It was wet outside, but should not of been wet enough to make it quit working. Battery has a charge. Any ideas on what to check? This is on an 08 DRR 50 LC. Need any suggestions because girls arent big enough to kick start and Harescramble races start tomorrow.

Thanks in Advance.

Mine quit working a couple times. The first was the black module under the seat went bad. The second time a plug connection under the front fenders had gotten dirt and junk in it and wasnt making good contact. That time was after a super muddy race and a lot of pressure washing. 2 places to start.

One other thing I just thought of that gave me trouble. The safety switch in the left brake. There is a spring and a pin in it. It didnt make good contact and wouldn't let the electric start engage. One easy way to check that is to pull in the brake lever. if the rear light works the switch is working good. If it doesn't, you need to pull it apart and clean it.

I agree with tntauto, brake safety switch. My boys did the same thing.

My boy's brake lever switch froze after getting wet and had to be dryed out before it started to work again.

Thanks for all the quick replies. It was the brake lever switch.
