it's a good article but in my opinion the kfx 700 isn't a high performance machine. No flame intended here. The main reason? It's an automatic, in my mind that pits it against the scrambler 500 or 400 2 wheel drive machines. Kawasaki should hook up a five or six speed to it and think about chain drive and more rear suspension travel. The predator comes in with about 11 inches out back, Ds650 about 12, and cannondale about 10. 7.5 seams a little short to be a high performance machine. Just my opinion what's everyone elses?

Im not a racer, but enjoy keeping up on it. From what I see, the type of quads on the tracks are very light, have very long travel suspensions and a hardcore power plant. It doesnt appear to me that this quad is for the hardcore racer.

However, it looks like a good set up for just all around use. On the video, the quad looks to be very fast and is able to jump. I look forward to seeing them out on the trails.

I would say not to pass to much judgement until we actually get to see these things or even ride them. Remember allot of people thought the Predator was going to be heavy and slow and now you hear a bunch of people relacing there honda's with them and talking about how fast they are. I think it would just be better to wait and see rather than judge a quad we haven't even rode. Now with all that said I do believe it is kinda ugly:D

I like them personally, they arent the best looking things, but they certainly arent the worse. I dont find the weight to be a big issue, and I wouldnt be suprised if its one of the best handlers out there. Kawasaki must have learned something from their racing experience.

i think they might do pretty good i mean when they first came out i hated them the more i look at them i like them if you going 80 mph your not going to worry about changing gears and 500 lbs is pretty good when you got shaft drive and that big motor but i agree it is alil on the heavy side and yes it is very very ugly

hehe i think if harley made a quad this would be what it was like, but it would have to leak oil and be slower.

you can see the weight when he jumps it. It comes down pretty hard for being 3 feet in the air. Looks like it pulls like **** when you hit the gas though. That much power would be fun. They need to stick that engine in a real sport quad chassis, not a modified prarie 650 chassis, and put a manual tranny on it.

i think its gunna be the type of quad for old people who wanna feel young but are too lazy to maintane it and shift gears. LMAO

It is not a Prairie chassis. The chassis was designed with much assistance from Doug Roll. Notice the single rail lower frt allowing the a arms to pivot close together. This helps eliminate bump steer. The sealed rear wet brake is a big plus too. While it is not my cup of tea so to speak, I think it may surprise a lot of people with a combination of power and handling we have never seen in a stock quad. The XC circuit better get ready.

if they didnt make it shaft i would like it more. But when i think of shaft i think of slow utuililites. I dunno i think the chain idea would have been better. But i cant really say anything til i have ridden it.

Why is a chain better? I dont understand why everyone fouls on shaft. Is it because utility quads use it?

I like the idea of a shaft on something that big. It will definately hold up better. Not to mention the brake on those are awesome.
