Ok guys that ride at around sea level, what are your jet setups? Im going to try to get this thing as close as possible the first go round. I have a 450r carb. I havent looked at the jets yet but will tonight to see what they are but im assuming stock. My setup is a 416 11:1, stage 2 hotcam, supertrapp shorty, 450r carb, and open airbox.

I would suggest a 174 keihin, on the 3rd clip position with the stock pilot at about 3 turns out on the f/a. i am at 172 with with some holes in the lid with my setup in my sig pretty much. steve

Hmmm 174. from all the posts and info I have went through, it seems that that is on the small side.. I am starting out at a 190, will prob need more.. Not saying 174 wouldn't do it.. But then again I am prob moving a lil more air in and out... I would still go to a 180-185.. But thats my op...

the only difference is yours a 440 and his is a 416 so he may be a tad lean but will not be bad. He may end up with a 176 in it with the lid off. I have not really had much time to experiment with the 450 carb to get it close. Steve

I have about 20 1/2" holes in my lid with the snorkel plugged off and it is just about perfect with the 172 in it at 1500 ft. they are 4 columns and 5 holes in a column i think so it would have 5 rows. I think for the summer it is going to be pretty close to being perfect with the lid off. I may have to go to a 174 but i will have to get one. otherwise i will just try out the dj stuff i have from the 400 carb. all of the jets are the same from each just so you know. steve

I also am at sea level and have a 190 main and a 50 pilot.

I have a 440 not a 416, so you should be in the 170s like they said.

I would get jet sizes from 170 up to 180, if you need a place to get jets, try jetsrus.com.

Also the 450r jets are the same as 400ex jets, minkuni jets also work, but the jets sizes are different, just incase you have some laying around.....jets r us also has a jet size converter.

well this is my jet choices between the two carbs. The stock carb had a 60 and a 168. The 450r carb has a 50 and a 175. Im leaving the 450r carb how it is and trying it. I just really wanted to get a round-about where i need to be.

also i noticed the throttle is a ton easier to push than my stock carb was. That should help in the trails some

x2 on the lighter throttle. I think the 175 will be just about perfect for you. steve
