Hi,
Im new here and just picked up a bone stock 2006 YFZ450. I uncorked the stock exhaust and tossed the air filter lid. I have read the jetting section and there is a favorite needle that everyone runs but there seems to be conflicting info. Half of the posts list it as NCVQ and the other half is NVCQ. My question is which one is it and where do you get it? Is it part of the GYTR jet kit or is it an OEM needle from a YZ450F? Thanks in advance.

The most common needle is the ncvq. I think it might come in the gytr kit but im not 100% sure. It is out of the '03 yz dirtbike, it's only about 15 bucks and you can buy them seperate.

I called the local bike shop and you cant buy just the needle from the GYTR kit. I looked up the OEM needle online but the part # does not say what the letter code is on the needle. I just want to be sure before ordering. If anyone else knows for sure please let me know. Thanks

All you gotta do is tell them you want the ncvq needle and they should be able to get it for you, or tell them you want the oem needle out of the yz dirtbike.

Will do. So what is the NVCQ needle or is that just a typo? That needle is mentioned about 5 times in the jetting forum also. I thought maybe someone just got the letters transposed.

I'm not sure what that needle is, it could be a typo. I googled it and found that people were talking about it but I couldn't find it anywhere to buy it, so it's probably a typo.

I just didn't want to get the wrong needle if it was availble as a NVCQ and the letters being way different in the taper and length and have a major meltdown. Thanks again.
