Im thinkin either a 460 kit from lukes racing or a 4 stroke tech 465 kit that doesnt require a stroker crank
Mayb a 500 kit from 4 stroke tech but any of u guys that have any experience with them let me no what u think
Pm me or juz post a comment

well i no money will deffinitly b an object but im not sure what i wanta spend yet
I looked on fst website and the 500 stroker kit was 800 five years ago so pro somewhere around 900-950 now and i have to send them my crank
there 465 kit is prob around 300 cause it doenst require a stroker
and the hole kit for a 460 with everything included to redo ur motor is 850 from lukes racing but it has like wesico and hotrods and all that good stuff

turbo 530r has the 500 bore from 4 stroke tech, and ive heard its fast. I wouldnt get a 460 cause almost every one has them, i would get the 500 to be different and faster;)

Hey I got a nice Hyabusa Turbo motor you might be able to cram into your 4 hundy frame ???? That would be different and Fast. LMAO.

Make sure you upgrade your cooling system whatever you do. Atleast a larger oil cooler and oil tank. Heat is going to be your main enemy.

almost everybody has 460 kits..? lol... lots of false info in this thread. why don't you wait for somebody that actually has a 460 to reply to you

id just do a hybrid if you have some skills at welding. Might cost a little more but you can make way more power

well i no a couple people that have 460 strokers and there few and far between but there are way way more than the 500 kit and ya one of the first thing i would wanta do is get a fst secondary oil cooler
i also no tc racing does a 505 kit but i would rather stay with fst because i only live like a lil over an hour from fst
im juz lookin for some ideas like what kinda mods should i do to make a fast 400ex but still b trail worthy if it needed to b
most of the time it would b drag raced

hey i have the hotrods 460kit the same one that lukes racing sells i actually got another company to price match me the same kit that lukes racing sell i just ended up getting different gaskets.but what do you need no i will be glad to help.the main thing is to go ahead and do everything else around the kit to keep it reliable as possible.as you can see in my sig i did alot of upgrading.oh yea the bike is very fast but its the things like the full exhaust and upgraded carb that really made the big difference just remember that engine needs to breath. before i got my carb and full exhaust.my bike felt about like your average 440 but had just a little more torque.now with everything else.done to it. everyone that rides cant believe its an ex.the main reason i did my kit is because almost everyone i ride with has a 700r. and there are a few yfz 450s. and im the biggest out of the bunch so i need the extra power. powerwise im running a 16 front and a 38rear sprocket with 20inch tires and my bike will stand up 1-3rd and it will slightly lift up in forth.sorry to write a book if u want to know anything else just ask.

ya man im really lookin into the 460 juz tryin to do some research and i trail ride more than anything although i do like to drag race.
idk what i would use this one for yet it might b more of a trail quad and im in the same situation as u i ride wit yfz450s trx450r s and crf250r s all day long on trails and in open feilds and stuff and its juz kinda hard to keep up but i dont wanta sell my ex becasue they r pretty much bullet proof and they are pretty fast if u want spend a little money
but as of right now im thinkin

Full flight +2+1 a-arms
450r shocks
g-force +4 axle
fst secondary oil cooler
the 460kit from lukes racing
either a curtis sparks big core or lrd
and a stage 2 hot cam with kibble white valves

Hows that for a start?

everything you said sounds good the only i would change on your list is the cam you should go with the stage 3 hotcam it was made for that kit it will give u more topend u want need any more bottom end.if those bikes are stock they will be trying to keep up with you. i have a mechanic that stays in my neighbor hood who i let work on my bike if need you know like changing jets or brakes or any other job on the bike if he can handle it. he has a yfz 450(06) model that has a 470 kit full lrd exhaust k and n filter and jet kit with one size up on his front sprocket and he said out the hole we are about even but on the top end he cant compete. i trail ride 90-95% of the time.speed wise i have a friend with an (07)raptor with barkers dual pipes k&n filter and pc5.(3mod)that im going to get my cousin to race because they are about equal weight.oh yeah my cousin rode both bikes before and wants to race my friend with my bike.i will let you know what happened when they finally race.

alright ya deffinitly let me no
theres not much for riding in pa right now still waiting for the snow to finish melting
but ya i think i would prob trail ride more than anything juz because its easyer on the machine i mine i like goin fast but i dont like to constantly b beating on the ex ya no
i juz want more speed but b able to keep some my reliability

anyone else running a 460 or 500?

my wife has the 460 stroker kit in her 05' i'm not a big fan of it I like the 426 with the higher compression more but, the 460 with a 12:1 stage 2 cam is nice and strong on the trails is great in the dunes and not too bad doing some sand drags. this setup doesn't get hot and is very reliable (unlike the stud pulling 13.5:1 426).

hey honda what carb and exhaust is your wife running on the 460

I started with the Eichner 440 carb (hated it) went to the 39 fcr (loved it) but had a hard time getting out the lean pop and stall because of the leak jet issues and at this time I just have a stocker on it (hate it) will soon be going back to the fcr with a R&D bowl. as for the exhaust I have a Yosi 440 head pipe and a Pro Circut muffler (old style).

ya i do alot of trail riding and i would like to run a 426 but then if i run a high comp piston like a 13:1 it may pull head studs
and then im gonna need to run race fuel
I think id rather have a 460 with a 12:1 some gtt head studs a stage 3 cam a good pipe and a mild port and polish

to get rid of that pop and stall I used a R&D accel pump cover with adj. leak jet and adjusted it way down. I don't remember why I went with the stage 2 ( It's been a few years) it was either because of the opverlap of the timing or maybe the lift was too much with my later plans to mill the head. or it could have been a spring issue.
