I'm new to the forum but, I have an important question for who ever can offer some advice! I own a 2000 Honda 300ex and I'm trying to complete some mod work to my front end! Some months ago I KNOW I read somewhere that the A-arm/shock budget mod was swapping out the 300ex a-arms with 400ex ones and swapping the stock shocks for a pair of stock Yamaha Banshee ones! Now with that said...I purchased a complete set of 400ex a-arms and tie rods today and already bolted them (that part was easy cause they just bolted right on) but, I just wanted to confirm that the Banshee shocks will in fact work out!? I have yet to get them (guy I was going to buy them from has yet to call me back) but, I'm just wanting/hoping that some one out there could confirm this mod and possibly post or e-mail me a pic of what you've done! Thanx for your help!

The 300ex shocks will not work!!! The only stock shock that you can use is the stock Banshee fronts! They will allow everything to sit/ride properly! You'll have to do some grinding on the bushings a bit but, over all WELL worth it! Also, make sure and use your stock 300ex spindles! Otherwise your front wheels will have a terrible pitch up top!!! Hope this helps! I've done this mod and it's well worth it!!! Good luck!

you can use 400ex or 450r shocks if you get the JB Racing shock mount relocator

Sure can but, in my opinion that just adds a weak link to the mix of things! Not sure how you ride but, I'm strictly a hard trail rider and average 56+ trips so, last thing I want or need is to have it fail while I'm out in the world miles away from anyone! But everyone is intitled to their own opinion! Either way good luck! Just do your research and make up your own mind!

The jb shock extender is the way to go. Ive broken 3 frames up front in hallf and the only thing left was the shock mount. I race motocross with big jumps. Im building a trail 300 right now with 450r shocks and 400 aarms should work well!
